Sept. 8, 2010 - Moore reaches $3,000 goal for "Shine"
|
_
Kevin Moore announced on his Kickstarter.com page earlier today that it took less than 24 hours
to reach the $3,000 goal to manufacture and release "Shine," the soundtrack he made for
the
2006 Turkish film, "Küçük Kiyamet." To reach the mark, dozens of
fans spread the word on
various social-networking websites and music forums and also pledged varying amounts.
In his posting, Moore said pledging would continue until October 8 in accordance with Kickstarter
rules and additional funds will allow for more creative options for the CD, t-shirts and packaging.
"I'd like this to be the best CD packaging that I've released yet," Moore wrote on Kickstarter.
"And I'll be pressing 500 CDs of the album, so the more we can set sail, the better."

Sept. 7, 2010 - Moore raising funds to release "Shine" soundtrack
|
_
Kevin Moore announced yesterday on Chromakey.com that he has launched a funding project
to manufacture and release his soundtrack made for the 2006 Turkish film, "Küçük Kiyamet."
If funding reaches $3,000, the album – entitled
"Shine" – would be released in November,
and those who pre-order would receive the CD two weeks earlier than the release date.
T-shirts and posters are also part of the funding based on the pledged amount.
"It is already recorded, mixed and mastered," Moore wrote on a Kickstarter.com page created
to track pledges. "I've started this Kickstarter project to fund the design and manufacture
of the physical CD. The funding deadline is October 8, 2010, and no one will
be
charged for their pledges unless the funding goal is reached by that date."

July 20, 2010 - Fan revamps Moore-related Wikipedia pages
|
_
Philip Thomas, also known as unalaguna on The Mooreatorium Forum, has devoted dozens
of
hours this year to significantly beefing
up a series of Wikipedia pages related to Kevin Moore
– most recently revamping
the writeup for OSI's 2009 album, Blood. Other Moore-related
Wikipedia links he's worked on are OSI's Office of Strategic Influence and Free
albums.
He's currently editing the page for Chroma Key's Graveyard Mountain Home album.
Thomas, who has been regularly updating Wikipedia pages since 2007, said he began making
"small tweaks" to Moore-related pages last year and then "started putting a meaningful amount
of work" into them in February. "I was attracted to articles related to
Kevin first and foremost
because I love his music," Thomas told The Mooreatorium. "On a more practical
level,
there are also enough interviews and album reviews to allow for decent-sized articles."

June 11, 2010 - News update posted on OSIband.com
|
_
A news update was posted yesterday on the OSI website that
confirms the band has inked a deal
with Metal Blade Records and has begun writing its
fourth album. In the posting, the album's
release date was cited as early 2011, not late 2010 as
Metal Blade had previously said.
The news update consists of a copy-and-pasted email exchange
between Kevin Moore and
Jim Matheos in which the duo humorously discusses the
task of updating the OSI website.
"We could just say we've just signed a new deal with MB and have
begun writing OSI4,"
Matheos wrote in the exchange, dated June 9, 2010. "Target
date early 2011?"

March 11, 2010 - Matheos discusses Moore, Parallels reunion
|
_
Jim Matheos, guitarist for Fates Warning and OSI, briefly discussed his relationship
with Kevin
Moore in an article posted this week by rock music e-zine, The Breakdown Room. The article
was done in anticipation of Fates Warning's upcoming re-release of its
1991 album Parallels
and reunion shows kicking off this month. In the article,
Matheos said that Moore would not
likely appear as a guest keyboardist on the band's future albums as he has in the past.
"We have such a connection with OSI that I really don't want to dabble with it outside of that and
mix up the chemistry," Matheos said in the article. "A lot of Fates' stuff isn't keyboard-oriented,
so I don't see that happening as far as appearances on studio albums. But any time he
wants to
come play live, I'm all for that. I'd love to play all of A Pleasant Shade of Gray again at one
point."
